Summer Watercolor Sessions 2025
Keeping up your watercolor practice over the summer? If you’d like some motivation, inspiration or guidance consider signing up for independent project sessions online. I’ll be offering a morning, afternoon and evening session. These are provided by me directly and not through the art centers where I teach during the academic year. Participants will work on their own projects and those preferring more directed study will have access to 40 video demonstrations selected from the Tutorials page of my website. I will not be doing full demonstrations of a particular subject but will provide brief demonstrations live online of watercolor techniques on request. Students requesting a link to a video tutorial will text or email me the title of their selection and I will send the link. They can view the video as often as they wish and can simplify or modify the project to their liking. Those working independently will bring their own ideas and reference images.
In these online sessions artists will get feedback either by holding their work up to their device cameras and/or by texting me a photo of their work in progress that I can digitally mark up and return to them. These sessions are fun, supportive and good opportunities for learning both through one’s own efforts and by seeing and listening to other students sharing and discussing their projects. All levels of experience are welcome but some familiarity with watercolor basics is required.
The dates for the 2 1/2-hour online sessions are:
Monday July 21, 10:00 am to 12:30 pm EDT
Thursday August 7, 5:00 pm to 7:30 pm EDT
Tuesday August 19, 1:00 pm to 3:30 pm EDT
The charge for each session is $35 and students can sign up for 1, 2 or all 3 sessions “a la carte”. Payment can be made to me directly by check, electronic bill payment or Venmo. Class size will be limited to ensure everyone has sufficient time to paint and get the feedback they’d like. I will send out a Zoom link to students who sign up. Feel free to reach out with any questions.
In the fall I will resume my online and in-person teaching through the New Art Center in Newtonville and the Mosesian Center for the Arts in Watertown. Information about those are posted on the Classes/Instruction page of my website and on the art centers’ websites once registration for fall classes opens.
